Oh, the horror… more on silly people.

All right, after we got some attention by our latest post, with reference to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet’s article on a guy who got burned (not literally) by his online dream date, we decided to share a little nugget of wisdom to you all.

Even though we advocate caution and safety, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go out on the limb once in a while, especially when it comes to love. However, if you do decide to get into internet, or online dating, there are some precautions you have to take in the event that you decide to meet the person. Regardless if you are male or femal, bring some sort of personal protection. A can of pepper or mace, a stun-gun, whatever you like best (or dislike the least).
Make arrangements with a friend, that you will call him/her at a set time, and if you don’t they’re gonna have to start looking.

That’s about all you can do. We have no intention of making people more paranoid than what is useful, but simple precautions can ensure that you walk away happy from encounters that might have turned out differently.

If you’re interested at all, a quick search of the internet, preferably by our favorite Google will show you some of the horrors that have occurred when ordinary people have been just a little too trusting. One story tells of a man who was kidnapped, tied up, tortured, ransomed, burned (literally) and then he finally died.

So! Be careful out there, ya hear?
