Visa Recommends Weighing Card Readers to Detect Tampering

“In response MasterCard sent a number of teams off around Europe equipped with scales to identify the offending terminals by weight.”

VISA has revoked their security approval for card reader models Ingenico 3070MP01 and i3070EP01, since they have been found to be easy to modify in a such a way that they can record, store and then give up card and PIN number info.

Just another reason to be vigilant about your bank account. Card is better than cash, but you still have to keep your eyes open.
