SHB 2010? Seriously Hard Bullshit, probably…

All right, so that was harsh.
But ladies and gentlemen, I invite you to take a look at Bruce Schneier’s latest post; it’s here.

An extract:
Third SHB Workshop

I’m at SHB 2010, the Third Interdisciplinary Workshop on Security and Human Behavior, at Cambridge University. This is a two-day gathering of computer security researchers, psychologists, behavioral economists, sociologists, philosophers, and others — all of whom are studying the human side of security — organized by Ross Anderson, Alessandro Acquisti, and myself.”

——————–

Soo…. these guys are studying “the human side of security”? All right, so I see the use in having psychologists there then. But computer security researchers (like Schneier himself)? “Behavioral economists”?? What the blue hell is that?

Good thing they have some philosophers at least. Interestingly enough, they seem less interested in having actual security experts there – law enforcement, federal agents, profilers, physical security experts, behavioral analysts instead of economists…

Or maybe it’s just me… Yeah, must be. I guess Schneier, the IT support guy from BT knows best…
