Monday Cool: Awesome Security System!

Okay… so it’s more of a “deterrent” type of deal – 200 bucks gets you an awesome laser show, which is either going to scare away the burglars, or inspire that inner “Mission Impossible” spirit we assume most people carry around inside of them…

Basically, this thing will project laser beams onto your walls and floor (and windows), moving them around in a “scanning” pattern to make anyone looking in think that the place is locked up like Fort Knox – the guy who made it even added a “beep”, which, in his own words, will send a “subliminal” message to the would-be burglar, letting him/her know that things will take a turn for the worse if the beams’re broken… Anyway…

While this thing is certainly cool, and may actually have a certain deterring effect – i.e. by making the security system visible – you’ll probably be better off combining it with a real system. You know, one that calls the cops or starts braying alarms or alerts a security company. Or all of the above…

On principle, though – never say no to a laser show! They’re awesome.
