“How to tell if your neighbor is a Bombmaker” – a comment
STRATFOR has published an articledealing with the signs that might let you know that your neighbor is a bombmaker. A terrorist, that is. The t-word is so frayed by now that “bombmaker” is perhaps more telling.
While it’s important to be vigilant, and while it’s important not to be too trusting of the world that moves around you, it’s also important not to be overcome by paranoia. We’ve always back the statement that says “just because you’re paranoid, that doesn’t mean they’re not after you”, but still – if you start screaming blue murder at every little funny thing you see or hear, it won’t take long before no one is listening any more.
It’s the whole thing about the wolf and the crying and the sheep – you know the story.
The article takes on a whole new dimention of actuality because of the Norwegian terrorist attacks, where a “Christian”, right-wing extremist (blonde, blue-eyed native Norwegian) man builds a massive bomb, sets it off in the middle of a cluster of government buildings and then tops it all off by gunning down and killing 65+ young persons in a youth camp. There was no way of telling that this person was building a bomb. Or planning to massacre children. It’s important to remember that bombers, in classic (and proven) profiling will be loners, absolutely mad loners, who will carefully hide their activities until they decide to rain their destruction on the innocent.
