Guest Post: Riot Armor that is Essential for Success
Since there are new weapons introduced regularly, body armor has become a very essential concern for crime fighters. From the early ages during wars, man has had the need to invent riot armor that is essential to their success. Whether attacking or on the defense, security always takes top priority, hence the great need to find high quality riot armor vests that are able to save lives.
The Early Days of Armor
Back in the 16th century, knights wore armor suits to protect them from harm during battles. Centuries later, gladiators entering the arena to fight for honor or freedom clad themselves in armor to protect their body parts. Today, the police force are our modern day knights and gladiators fighting to keep criminal elements in order; therefore, they too must clad themselves in riot armor for protection.
Modern Riot Suits
Because of the invention of new and high-powered weapons and bullets, armor suits are constantly improving. Today’s armor suits can withstand most bullets as well as knife stabs and once you are wearing them you tend to feel a lot safer. They may weigh the same as the old suits, but because of the high materials used to make them, they afford you greater protection against bullets, knives, stones and other man made weapons, such as clubs while you are doing your job as a crime fighter and getting involved in man-to-man combat.
Suits developed today are known as riot suits because as an officer of the state you can use them in civil defense. Traditional riot suits consist of four main pieces of protective gear:
- Helmet
- Chest Plate
- Shin Covers
- Forearm Shield
Modern riot suits will not only help to stop bullets, but are also able to absorb the shock of a bullet as well. Crime fighters are of the understanding that the chest plate is most important in the body armor because it covers your heart and lungs and other vital organs.
For the success of crime fighting in all countries, high quality armor suit manufacturing must constantly be upgraded. By doing so, crime fighting will become more effective and many criminal elements will be eliminated.
