Right.

You may have noticed that the site’s been a little quiet recently. Thats due to the unexpected absence of most of our writers – it’s the kind of thing that happens. However, we’re stocked up on new adventures and a bunch of stuff to tell you all about, and we’re coming back stronger than ever. So, I thought I’d let you in on some of the stuff that will be popping up right here, and in your email inbox too, if you’re one of our loyal subscribers. Here goes.

Gear Reviews

We’ve been trying to get our hands on the Nike SFB, but with no luck so far. Maybe Nike just doesn’t like us, after all the nice things we’ve had to say about Magnum and 5.11? We don’t know, but we’ll keep trying. Also, if you know where we can get a pair of SFBs in a rather large men’s size, let us know, huh? Thanks.

We’ve taken a closer look at some other stuff you’ll be happy about, however, and for those of you on the Northern Hemisphere, it’s almost time to gear up for winter again! That’s always fun. Stay tuned, because we’ll have at least 5 great gear reviews coming in the next week or so!

Book Reviews (uh-oh…)

Okay… those of you who’ve been following us for a while know that we all have a bit of a pet peeve roaming around out there… and his name is Bruce Schneier. Acclaimed author of quite a few books on various forms of security, and security in general. Now, Bruce Schneier is not a security professional. He’s a cryptographer and IT guy for BT, which in itself should raise a few questions. He’s not a CPP or a PSP, he’s not even a member of ASIS. He has never worked with physical security or airport security, yet he’s a self-proclaimed “guru” in the security field. Now.

We’ve got his latest book (no…we didn’t actually pay for a copy – we borrowed one), and we’ll tell you all about it. Chances are, we’ll take a closer look at some of the other books he’s written, but we’re going to start with “Liars and Outliers“, whatever that means. It may have something to do with gardeners who lie? We’re not sure.

We’ve also got a couple of other books lined up, and we’ll finally take a look at “Introduction to Security, 8th Ed.“, which we actually love. We hope Bruce schneier will read it some day.

Pics and Videos!

Security: Aww yeah.

Yep. We’ve got a bunch of those coming too, just for those days when you’re not in the mood for a bunch of letters stuck together to form words. Also, one picture is worth a thousand words, and with videos at about 60fps, that’s 60,000 words per second. You can catch up on a lot of reading that way, we suppose? Whatever. There’s gonna be some security porn for you guys and gals this coming weekend and next week!

So again – stay tuned. We’re awfully sorry for the lack of updates lately, but as you can see, we’re gonna make it up to you! And now, a word from our sponsors 😉 :
