Ten Indicted for Spectacular Swedish Robbery

What can only be described as one of the most spectacular robberies in Swedish recent history didn’t have a happy ending for the robbers, despite what the prosecuting DA describes as extremely well planned play.

The robbers pounded and blasted their way into the cash deposit / counting facility, scaring employees to the point that they feared for their lives, after landing on the facility’s roof in a helicopter.

30 minutes after the helicopter first lands on the roof and the robbers start cutting their way down to the cash, it takes off again with a very large sum of cash on board. Approx. 39 million Swedish crowns were taken.

The robbers dumped their chopper, and spilt ways, according to police. The suspected pilot is then caught on McDonalds surveillance tapes some 30 minutes after landing, ordering some grub after the ordeal, apparently.

The ten robbers are now arrested and awaiting trial in one of Stockholms high-security court rooms, where normally there will be no media coverage.

The link at the bottom of this post leads to Swedish newspaperExpressen“, where police has made public several videos of the chopper and the robbers, along with stills taken from surveillance video both inside and outside the facility.
