Are you firewalling your credit card?

Geolocking your credit card can save you thousands, should someone decide to target you for some kind of fraud. Some banks have decided to try out a new feature for their e-banking solutions, where a customer can lock out regions of the world from use of the card. I.e. you can lock Hong Kong, or Ecuador or any other region or country out, so that your card, your card number and your bank details are void in that area. Should someone try to use your card there, they’ll only get denied-messages from your bank. If anything at all.

The solution in itself is simple, and surely this will spread throughout e-banking rapidly, since a small adjustment to their systems easily can save the banks, and their customers thousands of whatever currency you prefer in single transactions.

Just remember to unlock your card if you decide to go to the locked regions…
