Summary:

Law enforcement, or LE, means any agency tasked by the government to uphold law (and order) in a state, county, community, society, country or nation state. A law enforcement officer is anyone employed by such an agency to carry out the duties that the agency is tasked with.

Examples:

Police, local police, federal police, military police, intelligence or national security agencies.

Abbreviations:

LE – Law Enforcement
LEO – Law Enforcement Officer
