Whitehaven security guard shot and killed

From WMCTV:

(WMC-TV) – Residents of a Whitehaven apartment complex are mourning the death of a security guard who was shot while on the job.

Sunday night, the manhunt began for two suspects involved in the shooting death of a guard at the Bent Tree Apartments on Winchester Avenue in Memphis.

“We don’t know what really happened,” said Pastor Ted Williams of Hope Fellowship Baptist Church. “I understand these were not people who lived inside of Bent Tree.”

The name of the guard has not been released. By Monday, people had pinned up teddy bears near the entrance of the Bent Tree Apartments, where the guard had stopped two suspicious men before he was shot and killed by one of them.

“It’s a shame that, at 41-years-old, he is not here,” Williams said. “We don’t understand what happened. What we do know is that he fulfilled his role well.”
